A guide to oral health for prospective mothers and their infants

INDRODUCTION

 

The aim of this brochure is to advise parents on how to take care of their children’s teeth, particular during the first years of life.  The establishment of good oral habits and a sound oral environment during these years is very important, as they tend to become the basis of good oral health throughout the life.

This brochure was started and firstly published by the Hellenic Society of Paediatric Dentistry and written by specialists of this society.  The European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, which is an association for specialized paediatric dentistry in Europe, has made it available for their natinal member societies according to their local needs and written in their own language.  On behalf of the EAPD I want to express my sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to its production, particularly the Hellenic Society of Paediatric Dentistry and the Austrian baby-product company MAM
